About Gold Rush Camp:
During this exciting week of summer camp, campers will explore the world of the California Gold Rush. In 1848, President Polk announced that gold had been discovered in California. This kick started a massive movement of people, Americans and immigrants, headed to California hoping to strike it rich. During this week of summer camp, hands-on activities and demonstrations will have campers traveling from the battle fields of Mexico, to the Oregon Trail, and all the way to the gold fields of California!

Polk Academy Quick Facts:
- Camp runs 9am-2pm daily
- Snacks are provided, but campers should bring a lunch and a water bottle
- Close-toed shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray are all highly recommended
- Registration fee MUST be paid to hold your camper’s spot; Partial refunds are available if cancelation is made two weeks prior to camp.
