Author's Reception & Book Signing

Join us for an author’s reception and book signing with Mark Cheathem, author of the new book Who is James K. Polk?: The Presidential Election of 1844. The reception will be followed by a short discussion about the book and a signing. Copies are available for purchase in advance at the Polk Home or at the event. 

Parking is available in the St. Peter‘s parking lot, directly behind the church with access from Frierson and Walker Streets. Enter the Parish Hall through the stairway at the front of the parking lot. 

This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. 

About Mark Cheathem

Dr. Mark Cheathem is a professor of history at Cumberland University, where he also serves as project director of the Papers of Martin Van Buren. He is the author or editor of nine books, including the award-winning books Andrew Jackson, Southerner and The Coming of Democracy: Presidential Campaigning in the Age of Jackson. His most recent publication is Who Is James K. Polk? The Presidential Election of 1844.
