Join this exciting camp to travel through hundreds of years of Tennessee history, from Native American civilizations into the mid-20th century. Campers will experience 5 days of exciting hands-on activities and crafts that will encourage them to think about what life was like for Tennesseans throughout history. Weave baskets as we explore life for Cherokee Indians, dip candles like a pioneer, learn about life in Civil War encampments, play Victorian-era parlor and yard games, and explore new inventions in this fun camp!
Polk Academy runs from 9am-2pm daily with drop off and pick up occuring at the Sister’s House Visitor’s Center. Campers should pack a water bottle and lunch daily, in addition to applying sunscreen, bug spray or any other needed products before camp. Snacks will be provided daily and campers should expect to be outside daily.
This camp is for rising 3rd-6th grade students. Full refund available one month before camp, with partial refunds being available until two weeks prior to camp’s start date.
