Historical Artist David Wright

Join us Saturday, May 6th, at Polk Presidential Hall to hear from Historical Artist David Wright. Mr. Wright’s visual presentation will discuss his work and his life as an historical artist. According to Wright, “Historical Artists march to a different drum than other artists. What we encounter depicting historical subjects deals with a lifetime of historical research. I feel that it is my obligation to present and future generations to portrat the subject with as much historical accuracy as possible and have devoted my artistic life to doing that.

This Shaping a Nation Speaker Series event is free. Attendees will also have access to the “Shaping a Nation: Tennessee Volunteers & the Mexican-American War” exhibition, which features artwork by David Wright. The exhibition is funded by a grant from the Tennessee Wars Commission and the Tennessee Historical Commission. For more information on the exhibition, click here.
