Historic firearms collector David Whitson Barr will present the free public program "Wheel-guns, Breechloaders, Flinters, and Cap-locks" at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church adjacent to the Polk Sisters' House.

The President James K. Polk Home will be one of eleven historic buildings included on the 2018 Maury Christmas Historic Home Tour organized by the Maury County Chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities. The event will be held on December 7-8  from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased for $25 at the Polk Home, the Athenaeum, Rippavilla Plantation, and the Maury County Visitors Bureau in advance and on the tour dates   For additional information,see the website www.MauryChristmas.org or call the Athenaeum at (931) 381-4822.


The James K. Polk Home and Museum is located at 301 W. 7th Street in downtown Columbia, TN.

Free parking is available in the lot across 7th Street or along High Street on the east side of the main house.
