The President James K. Polk Home and Museum will offer free admission to veterans and active personnel of the U.S. Armed Forces on both Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and the observed federal holiday (Nov. 12).
Dr. Amy S. Greenberg, a nationally recognized scholar of 19th century American history, will discuss her new book LADY FIRST: THE WORLD OF FIRST LADY SARAH POLK at 7 p.m. at Polk Presidential Hall. She will sign copies afterward.

Veterans Day (Observed)

In recognition of Veterans Day, the President James K. Polk Home and Museum annually offers free admission to veterans and active personnel of the U.S. Armed Forces on November 11. Because Veterans Day will fall on a Sunday this year, the federal holiday will be observed on Monday, November 12. The Polk Home's free admission offer will be valid on both days. The Sunday hours will be 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. The Monday hours will be 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The James K. Polk Home and Museum is located at 301 W. 7th Street in downtown Columbia, TN.
Free parking is available in the lot across 7th Street or along High Street on the east side of the main house.
