Dr. Kevin Tanner, Associate Professor of History at Austin Peay State University, will present the free public program "On the Campaign Trail of 1844: Cassius M. Clay's Defense of Union and Freedom" at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church adjacent to the Polk Sisters' House.

Spring Luncheon and Membership Meeting

The James K. Polk Memorial Association's spring luncheon and membership meeting will be held at noon in the President James K. Polk Home's gardens. A garden party will precede the event at 11 a.m.

The James K. Polk Memorial Association's biennial ball will be held at the home of Bob Doyle and Alexandra von Hoffmann in Williamsport, TN from 6 p.m. until midnight.

The President James K. Polk Home and Museum annually offers half-price admission on Presidents' Day weekend (Saturday- Monday).  This year, the exhibit "A Delicate Game to Play: James K. Polk's Cabinet" at Polk Presidential Hall will also be open for half-price.  On Saturday and Monday, the site's hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.  The Sunday hours are 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. 
 

Location

The James K. Polk Home and Museum is located at 301 W. 7th Street in downtown Columbia, TN.

Free parking is available in the lot across 7th Street or along High Street on the east side of the main house.
